5.Understand characteristics about data and how it travels over a network.

Data can travel over a network in many different ways. For example, Wired connection and
wireless connection.

Bandwidth: amount of data that can be transmitted over a communications medium at any one time.

Serial vs Parralell transmission:
Serial:one BIT ata time
Parralell:at least one bit at a time.

Transmission timing:Synchronos, asychronus, isochronus.
Transmission Directions:Simplex, half duplex, full duplex.

Wired Network: the pc is physically cabled to the network. This is common in schools business and government facilities.

Wireless Network: Typically use radio waves to send data through the air, this is becoming more popular in homes and businesses, wireless hotspots are now commonly available in public areas.
